Designing a Brand
Below is a full breakdown of how I designed a Brand’s Identity
What is a Brand?
Influenced by your values, products, marketing, and customer service, your brand is what people think of when they think about your company. Everything people encounter when they interact with your company adds to their perception of you and that is your brand.
What is an Identity?
Much like people have identity(ID) numbers to set them apart, identity is a brand’s set of visual elements that are unique to the brand in comparison to other brands. These include the logo, colors, fonts, icons, letterhead, business cards, envelopes, websites, packaging, etc.
Conceptualising Process.
For my personal logo, I opted to go with the Monogram style, centered around my name Njabulo, nicknamed Njure, and furthermore shortened to Nj.
Artistically, I will create my own font, using shapes and the shape-builder tool, assembling geometric pairings that form the logo both in icon mark and full mockup formats.
My colour scheme is a deep green ‘N’ and an orange ‘j’, a striking balance of colours that represent my personality through my brand as orange is a high-energy color that is great for expressing my friendly and playful side while green reflects forever artistically growing side.

The Business Card
For my business card design, I wanted to include my contact details, logo, and this very website both in written form and scannable form thanks to QR code technology.
