As a Creative Director working at the intersection of filmmaking and AI, I combine traditional storytelling craft with emerging technology to create bold, cinematic work. From concept development and AI-generated visuals to filmmaking, animation and post-production, I use generative AI as part of a wider creative toolkit to bring ambitious ideas to life in new ways.
HP Awards
The HP Partner Awards was an ambitious, large-scale live experience that brought together cinematic storytelling, artificial intelligence, live performance and immersive event design.
Working as Creative Director, Scriptwriter and Editor, I helped shape the project from its earliest creative development through to final execution. The challenge was to create an opening film that felt cinematic enough to stand on its own, while being designed specifically for a live environment and the scale of a 360° LED venue.
AI became an important part of the creative process, allowing us to develop and build visual sequences that would have been difficult to achieve through traditional production alone. These elements were combined with live-action filmmaking, motion design, VFX and editorial to create one cohesive visual world.
The final piece was designed to move seamlessly between screen and stage, working alongside a live orchestra and the wider show experience. My role involved developing the narrative and script, defining the creative direction and ultimately bringing all of those elements together in the edit.
The result was a project that demonstrated what excites me most about AI filmmaking: not replacing traditional production, but expanding what’s creatively possible when the two are used together.
EXXARO - AI Narrative Project
The EXXARO project was an exploration of how AI-driven filmmaking and human storytelling could come together to communicate a story of growth, transformation, and possibility.
Working as Creative Director and Editor, I helped develop a linear visual narrative following a young boy as he grows into a man, using his journey as a metaphor for EXXARO’s own evolution and its commitment to creating meaningful socio-economic impact.
AI formed a central part of the production pipeline. We used generative AI to develop characters, environments, and cinematic sequences, allowing us to move through different stages of life while maintaining a consistent visual language and emotional thread across the film.
In post-production, I brought these generated elements together through editing, compositing, motion design and traditional post-production techniques, refining the individual AI outputs into one cohesive visual journey.
The project became an example of what happens when AI is treated as part of the filmmaking process rather than the final product — combining technology, creative direction and editorial craft to tell a story that remained fundamentally human.
